Join CHADD to Unlock More Benefits!
ADHDKC, the award-winning CHADD chapter serving the Kansas City metro, is here to help you navigate the challenges and triumphs of living with ADHD. Whether you're a parent of a child with ADHD, an adult with ADHD, a woman managing ADHD, or a teen with ADHD, we've got an event for you!
Each month ADHDKC hosts a variety of events designed to support and educate, giving you the resources and community you need to thrive.
Why join CHADD?
ADHDKC events are free and open to everyone, but when you become a CHADD member, you're not only joining a vibrant and supportive ADHD community but also unlocking a world of benefits:
Attention Magazine: A bi-monthly magazine packed with the latest research, tips, and real stories from the ADHD community.
Attention Newsletter: Stay up to date with the latest news on ADHD.
Exclusive Website Content: Gain access to members-only resources, webinars, and tools to help you better understand ADHD.
Membership Types: Individual, family, educator, senior, student, and professional memberships are available to suit your needs.
Help us: List ADHDKC as Your Chapter!
When you list ADHDKC as your chapter, your membership supports ADHDKC. A portion of your payment goes to our chapter.
Also, this month we’re participating in a friendly competition among CHADD chapters to see who can grow the most. When you join and list ADHDKC as your chapter, you're not only gaining valuable resources—you’re helping us win!

Visit us at community events!
ADHDKC loves to get involved at various community events to help spread the word about our group as well as promote mental health and ADHD Awareness.
BOLD Parenting Adolescent ADHD, Anxiety & Depression
Raising teens is hard. Especially, if they are struggling and you feel like you’re “walking on eggshells.” Become a BOLD Parent.
The Anxiety Center at Renew will be offering this FREE event. ADHDKC is one of the community partners who will be there!
When: Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 6 PM
Where: 13720 Roe Avenue Leawood, KS 66224
In addition to hosting a table at the BOLD Parenting event, ADHDKC has hosted informational tables at the Blue Valley Special Needs Resource Fair for many years. We also co-sponsored a Mental Wellness Awareness event to promote suicide prevention and awareness. Dr. Stuppy recently spoke at a local school parent group about managing stress as a parent. ADHDKC will be at the upcoming LSR7 Community Resource Expo at Lee's Summit West High School in November.
If your school or organization would like to have a speaker talk about a topic related to ADHD or host a table at a resource fair, please have them reach out to us!
ADHDKC Group Events
All of our events are free but require an RSVP. Space is limited for some of the events, so we ask that you remove your RSVP if your plans change. This can easily be done from a link on reminder emails or by going to our Events page, clicking on the event and following the directions on your screen.
Results from the survey on our Home Page continue to give insight into needs from our community. The large majority of responses indicate that people prefer to watch recordings on their own time. We recognize that everyone’s time is valuable, including our speakers and volunteers, and we will take this into consideration when planning future events.
Our Adult’s and Women’s Groups are designed to be small group discussions and are in person only. RSVP is required because space is limited to foster discussion among participants.
Our Teen Group will offer more online-only options. These are not recorded because they are interactive and we need to respect the privacy of youth who are participating.
Our Parent Group will begin to offer more online-only options because these are more easily recorded for those who prefer to watch on their own time. We will attempt to record our in-person events as well, but these tend to be low quality, so if you want to hear a particular topic, we encourage you attend in person events at the location. We’re moving locations for this group to improve accessibility from various Metro locations. If you want us to host an event near you, send us a location suggestion. Since we have limited resources, free locations are preferred.
Executive Functioning Tip: Look for the email sent when you register and add it to your calendar so you never miss a meeting!
You’ll get reminders starting 3 days prior to events - we know how the ADHD brain can forget things…

Join our online groups to continue conversations!
We’ve had many requests to offer private online groups to continue conversations between events and we’re now able to offer this on our website, so those who have given up all the social media sites can gather in one safe(r) place.
We will moderate the groups and remove comments that are deemed inappropriate. Members who do not abide by our rules will be removed.
Remember to keep the spaces uplifting, encouraging and educational with evidence-based information! Be patient as these groups are starting - there’s not a lot going on there yet, but your participation can help the group grow!
Find and join the group(s) that interest you on our new Groups page.
We will continue to use Facebook and Instagram Pages to share information and Events, but any Facebook Groups that have been used will be transferred to our Groups.
