Advocating for yourself can feel overwhelming — even more so when ADHD makes communication, planning, or emotional regulation a challenge. This month, we’re diving into the real-life skills that help adults confidently express their needs, ask for ADHD-friendly accommodations, and navigate conversations at work, at school, and in relationships.
We’ll talk about:
✨ What accommodations look like in everyday adult life
✨ How to explain ADHD-related challenges without over-sharing
✨ Scripts and strategies for asking for what you need
✨ How to handle pushback or confusion from others
✨ Setting boundaries and speaking up with confidence
✨ Real-world examples from work, home, and community settings
💬 Group Discussion
After a short introduction about accommodations, moderators Nic and Abby will guide an open, supportive conversation. This is your chance to:
Share your experiences
Hear how others are navigating similar challenges
Brainstorm real solutions together
Leave with practical strategies you can use immediately
👥 Who Should Attend?
Adults with ADHD, as well as partners, family members, and supporters who want to better understand accommodations and advocacy, are all welcome.
🧠 About the ADHDKC Adults’ Group
We meet monthly to build community and support adults navigating ADHD in everyday life. Each meeting includes:
A featured topic introduced by Nic & Abby
Time for discussion, questions, and shared strategies
Space for members to suggest future topics based on what matters most to them
We also have an online group forum so we can continue the conversation between events
Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have years of lived experience, this group offers a space to connect, learn, and grow together.
🔔 Please Note
We’re here to share personal stories and strategies, not to provide treatment recommendations. The group is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional to ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. While we hope you gain helpful tools and connection, this meeting is not a substitute for therapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment.
All attendees must review and agree to the CHADD Participation Agreement before attending.
