Hello, ADHDKC family!
This Halloween we have one BIG question... Are you ghosting us? We’ve noticed a frightfully low attendance at our recent events – and we miss you all! No tricks, we’d really love to see you back at our gatherings. 🕸️
Let’s talk truth: each event we put together for our community takes a LOT of effort from our dedicated volunteers. Imagine this spooky scene... friendly volunteers (all of whom work for free!) spend hours scaring up locations, brewing up engaging topics, whipping up eye-catching marketing, and putting together treats (OK, maybe not literal treats... but we think you get the picture!). Our volunteer speakers even conjure up special talks and go through the nerve-rattling job of presenting them live!
Despite all that spooktacular preparation, here’s our conundrum: Only 1 in 3 of those who sign up actually show up. And we get it—schedules change, things come up, the cat knocks over the cauldron... you name it, we’ve heard it! But when we don’t know how many of you are coming, it’s tough to plan. And when those seats stay empty, we have to ask: are we spooking you off, or are you just playing ghost?
So here’s our friendly boo-st: If you register for an event, do your best to join us! And if you can’t make it, just give us a heads up—no hard feelings! 🎃 We promise not to make a hex on anyone.
Just remember: we’re ALL volunteers, here to provide these free resources for you and our whole ADHDKC community! Every event we put on is packed with energy, information, and support, whether you’re new to the ADHD world or a seasoned expert. But none of this is possible without YOU.
So, this Halloween, no tricks, only treats. Let’s be there for each other. 🎃👻 Come hang out with us, learn a few new things, connect with your community, and make all the hard work worth every minute. We hope to see you soon – and that’s no ghoul joke!
👻 Upcoming Events from the Other Side (a.k.a. ADHDKC HQ) 👻
November ADHDKCTeen Event Update
Hold on to your broomsticks, folks—our November ADHDKCTeen Event has been cancelled due to low interest. Cue sad, spooky ghost noises. 👻 But don’t worry; we’re still here with plenty of events and resources. Teens, we hope to be back in December to talk about self-care resolutions we can make for the New Moon - er, New Year (we promise they’ll be “fang-tastic”).
Important Reminder for Our Next Parent Event!
Heads up! This month’s Parent Event will NOT be recorded—it’s one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of deals. Our speaker requested a live-only session, so if you’re hoping to join, make sure to mark your calendar and be there. This is truly a one-night-only kind of show!
Women’s & Adult’s Groups
Finally, for those looking forward to our Women’s Group, our wonderful moderator is taking a well-deserved haunting hiatus but hopes to be back in December! Stay tuned for updates, and we’ll keep you posted when she returns—refreshed and ready to tackle all things ADHD. Don’t be frightened in November though - women are invited to join the Parent Group or Adults Group.
Thanks for reading, ghoul friends. We appreciate your support, and we’ll see you (in the flesh, please!) at our next event. 🎃
With friendly boos and all our ADHDKC love,
Your Spooky, Supportive ADHDKC Team 🎃👻
