Exciting News for the ADHD Community!
CHADD has just launched the ADHD Advocacy Action Center — a powerful new hub designed to help individuals and families make their voices heard on the policies that impact ADHD care, education, and daily life.
We need an ADHD Advocacy Action Center in 2025 more than ever because individuals and families affected by ADHD continue to face serious gaps in care, understanding, and support — and policy change is essential to closing those gaps.
Why this matters:
1. Access to ADHD Care Is Still Unequal
Many families face long waitlists, high costs, and a lack of trained professionals — especially in rural areas and underserved communities.
Medication shortages and insurance barriers are making it harder for people to get the treatments they need.
2. School Supports Are Inconsistent
Students with ADHD are often misunderstood, under-supported, or even punished for behaviors related to their symptoms.
Policies vary widely between states and school districts, leaving families to fight for 504 Plans or IEPs with little guidance or help.
3. Stigma Still Shapes Public Policy
Misconceptions about ADHD lead to policies that ignore or minimize the real challenges people face.
Adults with ADHD often get overlooked completely in legislation, workplace protections, and mental health initiatives.
4. Your Voice Can Drive Change
Policymakers don’t always hear from the people who are directly affected — that’s why personal stories and grassroots advocacy are so powerful.
The Advocacy Center gives you the tools to speak out effectively and make sure the ADHD community is represented when laws are written and funding decisions are made.
5. There’s Momentum — and We Need to Keep It Going
With growing awareness of neurodiversity, there’s a real opportunity to push for better mental health coverage, inclusive education, and stronger protections in the workplace and beyond.
But progress depends on organized, informed, and persistent advocacy — and that’s exactly what this new Action Center helps us do.
The ADHD Advocacy Action Center is more than a website — it’s a movement. It connects us, empowers us, and helps us turn frustration into focused action.
Whether you're an advocate, educator, caregiver, or someone personally affected by ADHD, this center provides the tools and up-to-date information you need to take action and drive meaningful change at the local, state, and national levels.
