📣 Call to Action: Stand Up for Students with ADHD!
They need you!
Last week, a major shift in Washington put the rights of students with with disabilities — including those with ADHD — at real risk.
The U.S. Department of Education has begun transferring several key programs to other federal agencies. While it may sound like a small administrative move, this change could seriously weaken both the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 protections that millions of families rely on every day.
The good news: The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) — the two offices that ensure students receive disability supports and are treated fairly — have not been moved. There is still time to stop this. But only if we act now.
Your voice matters.
In just 60 seconds, you can help protect the Department of Education from being dismantled and ensure these critical offices stay exactly where they belong—working for our kids.
👉 Take action now through CHADD’s ADHD Advocacy Action Center. With one quick message, you can tell your members of Congress to block these transfers and safeguard essential protections for students with ADHD.
Click any section in the Advocacy Action Center to easily write and send a message to your Senator or Representative. If you’re not sure whether you’ve already reached out, go ahead and do it now — duplicate messages are okay because they show strong, consistent support for the issue.
Act today and share widely—with your family, your school community, and your friends. Take action here: https://chadd.org/adhd-advocacy-action-center/
Together, we can ensure that every student receives the support, fairness, and opportunity they deserve.
If you were at ADHD 2025 and saw the final keynote speaker, Matt Cohen, you are aware of all that is at stake! For those who haven’t yet gotten around to messaging your Senator and Representative, here’s your reminder.
For those who weren’t there, an image previously shared on our Facebook and Instagram pages with Mr. Cohen and a couple of his slides:
And What A Conference It Was!
The 2025 International ADHD Conference is officially complete, and our hearts are so full!
Our incredible locals committee has been working tirelessly for months side by side with amazing partners from CHADD, ACO, and ADDA across the globe to help bring this conference to life. And wow… what a privilege to finally see it all come together right here in Kansas City for the very first time!
We met so many people we’ve collaborated with and followed online for years, reunited with old friends, and made countless new connections.
We soaked up cutting-edge science, practical strategies, and empowering insights, whether we’re individuals with ADHD, parents raising ADHD kiddos, educators supporting neurodivergent students, or clinicians helping clients thrive.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared, taught, learned, laughed, and made this week extraordinary. Kansas City showed up BIG!
And guess what? We’re already excited for next year in Baltimore, December 3-5, 2026. Save the date!
Until then—rest, recharge, and keep the momentum going!
