About the Event
Hormones can feel like invisible forces running the show — and for women with ADHD, they can have a major impact. From puberty and menstrual cycles to pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause, shifting hormones often intensify ADHD symptoms and influence mood, focus, and energy.
This month, we’ll dive into the ways hormones interact with ADHD in women. Christina Pynn and Lauren Dreher, ADHDKC Women’s Group coordinators and advocates, will guide the session — and we’re excited to share that there may also be an expert guest in the field to help kick things off with an educational overview.
After the introduction, we’ll open the floor for a supportive group discussion where participants can share experiences, strategies, and encouragement.
🔔 Space is limited!
To keep the conversation meaningful and personal, space is limited and these sessions are not recorded.
Registration is free, but required.
Why This Topic Matters
Women’s ADHD is often misunderstood, underdiagnosed, and overlooked—especially when it comes to the role hormones play. Understanding these patterns not only validates your lived experience but also helps you prepare for and navigate hormonal shifts with more self-compassion and practical tools.

The intersection of ADHD and hormones is one of those areas where lived experience often runs ahead of formal research. Many women with ADHD notice their medication works differently at different points in their cycle, or that PMS amplifies emotional dysregulation significantly. It's validating—and strategically useful—to understand these patterns.
