Teens: Feeling Overwhelmed by Criticism or Afraid of Being Left Out? You’re Not Alone.
Rejection Sensitivity- the informal but common symptom of ADHD
If you’ve ever taken feedback way too personally—even when someone’s just trying to help — or if you avoid situations because you're scared of being misunderstood or excluded, we totally get it.
In fact, we’re feeling it because this event is tomorrow and far fewer people than typical have signed up. But looking at the facts, the newsletter’s stats indicate something happened the first time we sent this out. It only delivered to 4 people. Weird, but we’ll try again!
Many teens with ADHD experience something called Rejection Sensitivity (RSD), which is a BIG emotional response to even small moments of rejection, failure, or criticism. It can feel intense, confusing, and sometimes isolating.
✨ Join us for the next ADHDKCTeen session as we dive into:
What Rejection Sensitivity really is — and why it shows up so often in ADHD brains
How it ties into emotional regulation and executive functioning
Tools and strategies to manage those intense emotions and feel more in control
🆓 This free event is open to teens ages 13–18 with ADHD — diagnosed or suspected — and peers who want to learn and support friends and siblings.
This is a safe space to learn, connect, and be real — whether you're hearing about this for the first time or you’ve been dealing with it for years.
We’ll talk about how to spot the signs, stop the shame spiral, and build better ways to bounce back when rejection stings.
🧠💬 Plus, there’s always time to ask questions, share your thoughts, and hang out with other teens who really get it.
