Tis the Season… for Self-Regulation: ADHD and Emotional Wellness
December Adults Group
🎄 Tis the Season … 🕯️❄️
for Self-Regulation: ADHD and Emotional Wellness
🗓 Sunday, December 7 | 2:00–4:00 PM
📍 Lenexa City Center Library, Meeting Room 2
The holidays can be a mix of joy, chaos, and sensory overload—and for adults with ADHD, all that emotional energy can feel like a lot to manage.
This month, we’re coming together to talk about something we all need a little more of this time of year: emotional regulation.
The Adults Group will explore:
What emotional regulation really means (and why it’s harder with ADHD)
How to spot your triggers before they spiral
Ways to reduce overwhelm and stay grounded in the moment
Tips for setting boundaries and protecting your energy
Simple, compassionate strategies to bring more peace and balance into your holiday season
Whether you love the holidays or just try to survive them, this session will help you find tools that work for you—so you can stay calm, connected, and centered through it all.
As always, ADHDKC Adult Group meetings are open, free, and designed for sharing, learning, and connecting with others who get it. Join us on December 7 at the Lenexa City Center Library!

Group Discussion
After an introduction about self-regulation, our moderators Nic and Abby will lead an open discussion. This is your chance to:
Share personal experiences
Hear how others are managing similar challenges
Walk away with strategies you can use right away
Who Should Attend?
This event is open to adults with ADHD as well as family members, partners, and supporters who want to better understand how nutrition can affect life with ADHD.
About the Adults’ Group
The ADHDKC Adults’ Group meets monthly as a supportive community for adults navigating ADHD in real life. Each meeting includes:
A featured topic introduced by Nic & Abby (sometimes with guest experts!)
Time for group discussion, questions, and shared strategies
Opportunities to suggest future topics based on your interests and needs
Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing ADHD for years, this group offers a space to connect, learn, and grow together.
🔔 Please Note: We’re here to share personal stories and strategies, not provide treatment recommendations. This group is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional to provide guidance, structure, and support in a safe and respectful environment. While the group offers opportunities for sharing experiences and learning from peers, it is not a substitute for individualized therapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment.
