September Parent Group Bonus
Our September Parent Group Speaker, Emily Kircher-Morris, joined Kristen in the latest ADHDKC Conversations podcast. As an advocate for neurodivergent individuals, Emily is a popular speaker, former educator, author, and counselor who specializes in supporting gifted, twice exceptional (2E), and neurodivergent kids and adults (and their families). She shares her personal experience with ADHD and discusses the importance of neurodiversity-affirming schools, the importance of finding the right therapist for a child with ADHD, and the need for individualized approaches to treatment.
Get to know her before the ADHDKC Parent Group talk on suicidality and self-harm among neurodivergent youth by listening to the podcast on Spotify or on our YouTube channel.
RSVPs are required
All of our events are free but require an RSVP. Space is limited for some of the events, so we ask that you remove your RSVP if your plans change.
We think you’ll find registering for events to be very user-friendly. You can add events to your calendar from the automated email sent after registration.
Executive Functioning Tip: Look for the email and add it to your calendar so you never miss a meeting!
You’ll get reminders starting 3 days prior to events - we know how the ADHD brain can forget things…

Survey says…
Thank you to those of you who have filled out the survey on our Home Page!
From the results we’ve learned that there is no preferred day of the week for our events - the large majority of responses indicated that people prefer to watch recordings on their own time. We recognize that everyone’s time is valuable, including our speakers and volunteers, and we will take this into consideration when planning future events.
We also learned that we haven’t done a good job letting people know that you can officially join CHADD (our parent organization) and get MUCH more than just our local events. We’ll work on that! You need to know these benefits!!!

Anyone can RSVP for an Event, but if you subscribe to our website, you’ll get so much more! We encourage you to make an account on our website to have access to all of the new features.
Find the log in button next to the Groups tab and log in. Choose the My Account tab to have access to the Member Center.
In the Member Center
You can use the “Events” tab to see all the Upcoming and Past Events for which you’ve registered.
Use the “Settings” tab to choose when and how you want to be notified.
If you want to be notified of New Events, be sure to turn that on and you’ll be notified every time a new event is added.

The “Notifications” tab has all your notifications, so you can always take a look if you’re logged into the site.
Since our events are free, you should not use the “My Wallet” tab.
Join our online groups to continue conversations!
We’ve had many requests to offer private online groups to continue conversations between events and we’re now able to offer this on our website, so those who have given up all the social media sites can gather in one safe(r) place.
We will moderate the groups and remove comments that are deemed inappropriate. Members who do not abide by our rules will be removed.
Remember to keep the spaces uplifting, encouraging and educational with evidence-based information!
Find and join the group(s) that interest you on our new Groups page.
We will continue to use Facebook and Instagram Pages to share information and Events, but any Facebook Groups that have been used will be transferred to our Groups.
Learn more about other community and online national opportunities and events on our Special Events Page.
Follow us on social media to learn even more!
Feel free to share this newsletter with friends and family who might benefit from the information and subscribe to get an update each month about ADHDKC’s events.
