ADHDKC Parent Event: Worried and Wiggly: Understanding ADHD & Anxiety in Kids
We’re excited to welcome Dr. Natasha Burgert to our February Parent Event!
Dr. Burgert is a board-certified pediatrician with nearly 20 years of clinical experience, currently practicing full-time in the Kansas City area.
Known nationally as KC Kids Doc, Dr. Burgert is a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics, a passionate vaccine advocate, and the author of a newly-released guide for parents called Managing Childhood Anxiety (For Dummies). Throughout all her work, she brings a real-world lens to pediatric care — blending evidence-based guidance with the relatable experience of being a mom of two.
Connect with her at kckidsdoc.com, or on her socials - Instagram and LinkedIn.
At our February event, Dr. Burgert will explore:
The neurochemistry of anxiety and how it overlaps with ADHD
Environmental supports to reduce anxiety in kids and teens
Partnering with your pediatrician when anxiety is a concern
A brief overview of medication options for anxiety
This will be an invaluable evening for parents who want to better understand the link between ADHD and anxiety and gain practical tools for supporting their children.
🔔 This session is presented by a licensed pediatrician and is intended to provide general information, guidance, and support around ADHD-related topics. While we’ll cover helpful strategies and leave time for questions and discussion, please keep in mind that this presentation is not a substitute for personalized medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If you have specific concerns about your own situation or that of a loved one, we encourage you to follow up with your healthcare provider or a qualified mental health professional. We also ask that everyone respect the privacy of others and help us maintain a supportive, inclusive space for open dialogue.
This free ADHDKC Parent Group event is open to all parents, caregivers, and educators looking for strategies to help high school students thrive.

🌟 Help Share ADHDKC With People Struggling With ADHD!
If you’ve had a positive experience with ADHDKC, we’d be so grateful if you could take a moment to leave us a review. 📝 Your words help other families find the same support, encouragement, and care that made a difference for you.
But that’s not all! Sharing ADHDKC with your school administration and teachers is another powerful way to spread the word. They can pass our resources along to families who might not know where to turn. Every review, every share, helps us keep growing and reaching more people who need support. 💙
And don’t forget: every time you wear your ADHDKC hat or shirt, sip from your water bottle, jot notes in your notebook, or roll around with that bumper sticker — you’re doing more than showing spirit. You’re sending a quiet, powerful signal: You’re not alone.
Someone walking by might be struggling and not know where to find help. Your swag could be the spark that leads them to our community, our resources, and maybe even a little hope. ✨
So rock that ADHDKC gear proudly — it’s advocacy in action, and it might just change someone’s day.
ADHDKC has been here since 2012, but so many in the KC Metro don’t know about us, so they’re unable to benefit from the community.
By wearing, carrying, or displaying ADHDKC’s merch, you can help initiate conversations and let those who are struggling with ADHD learn about our group.
