Our main July Parent & Teen Event
The ADHDKC Parent and ADHDKCTeen groups will meet again in July to learn about mindfulness as a follow up to the anxiety talk in June.
If you’re not familiar with mindfulness, there’s more to it than meets the eye. This will be a fun and interactive event and you’ll learn some of the science behind mindfulness and practice some of the techniques.
Dr. Kristen Stuppy, our monthly ADHDKCTeen moderator, will talk about the science of mindfulness as well as introduce several of the techniques in this interactive class. There will be some mind tricks sprinkled in to help show participants how our brains are not always reliable.
Dr. Stuppy knows that it’s hard to stay focused during lectures, so she keeps participants engaged by encouraging audience participation. This talk is appropriate for adolescents, parents, and other adults.
When: Tuesday July 2nd at 6:30 PM CST
Where: online (Zoom)

Meet the ADHDKC Professional Advisory Board
🎉 It’s time to celebrate Sasha Haarhoff, our June ADHDKC Professional Advisory Board Member of the Month!!!
Sasha is another of our newer board members. She’s a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Jordan Psychological Center. Her nursing career has had a mental health focus from the start. Sasha believes in an integrated approach to health - the brain is not separate from the body and every person seeking physical health care comes with their own mental health needs. Sasha has clinical experience in community mental health and substance use disorder treatment as well as primary and urgent care.
We’re so glad that Sasha has joined our team! 🌟
