Unlocking Potential: Integrating Natural Solutions for Improved ADHD Symptom Control
Thank you to Dr. Pahini Ross of Flourish Bound Integrative Health for a fabulous parent meeting about making small changes to help improve ADHD symptom control! If you missed the talk, you can watch it here.
Meet the ADHDKC Professional Advisory Board
This month Dr. Tish Taylor is our featured board member. You may have seen her in June when she talked to our Parent Group about effective parenting behaviors that can help kids with ADHD and oppositional behaviors. Dr. Taylor has been an active board member for many years. We appreciate all she’s done behind the scenes in addition to the valuable parent sessions she’s led.
Here’s what you can look forward to in upcoming months:
A combined talk for Parents, Adults, and Adolescents with ADHD & Tics
This October speakers from Tourette’s Syndrome Association will join ADHDKC to talk to adolescents and their parents as well as adults who have tics.

Adult's Group
Rachel Tinsley is the Adult’s Group Coordinator. Each month there will be a general topic of discussion, as noted below. Sign up for each event separately due to space limitations. ADHDKCTeen
Calling all Middle and High School Students! ADHDKCTeen is our group for middle and high schoolers. This group meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7 or 7:30 PM unless otherwise noted. Meetings are always online and some also allow for gathering in person at Horizon Academy in Roeland Park.
In October there are two opportunities for ADHDKCTeen members to learn!
The first is October 3rd with the parent’s group - all are invited to learn together!
From passing your driver’s education test to addressing law enforcement, teens will learn the basics of driving, explore what it means to drive with tics, and how to talk to police officers and EMTs about Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorders.
Join a driver’s education instructor, an occupational therapist, and a young adult with tics as they walk- or drive- you through this important session for anyone with tics.
Where: Online
The second is October 10th.
We’ll be talking about ways we waste time and unnecessarily drain energy on October 10th. This is our regular meeting a week later than usual, so you’ll get log in information if you’ve registered for ADHDKCTeen. If you need to register, use the button below.

CHADD resources
CHADD and their partners have developed TOOLS to help you teach your child important skills.
CHADD also has Toolkits (different from TOOLS above) to help you learn about ADHD. Learn about school resources, suicide prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and more!
CHADD also has two podcasts that cover many topics related to ADHD.
The ADHD 365 podcast provides expert advice, tips, and strategies for families, adults, educators, and professionals.
The All Things ADHD podcast is a learning resource program of CHADD’s National Resource Center, funded by the CDC, to disseminate expert information to improve the lives of those affected by ADHD.
